What’s your wish for U.S?

Civic Season at the Davenport House: The Community Wish Wall

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the Davenport House Museum is proud to join communities across the country in a national Wish Wall initiative organized by Made By Us as part of Civic Season.

Civic Season is an annual nationwide movement taking place between Juneteenth and Independence Day. It encourages people—especially younger generations—to explore our shared history, connect with their local communities, and consider the active role they can play in shaping the future.

Installation Dates: June 18 – July 10, 2026

Location: The Davenport House Museum

Admission: Free and open to all ages

What is the Wish Wall?

In partnership with The Makers Guild and the Southwest Middle School Student Council, we are installing an interactive community Wish Wall right here at the museum.

We invite community members of all ages to stop by and answer the question:

"What is your wish for the next 250 years?"

Your reflections will contribute to a massive national effort to collect public hopes, dreams, and aspirations during this milestone anniversary, helping us collectively imagine what the future can be.

Feature Event: Wish Wall Celebration

To celebrate the project and gather our voices together, we invite you to join us for a special community gathering:

  • Date: Friday, June 26, 2026

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • What: Stop by to add your physical wish to the wall, meet fellow community members, and reflect on what we hope to build together in Savannah and across the nation over the next 250 years. Light refreshments will be served.

We are incredibly excited to participate in Civic Season and look forward to gathering the voices, hopes, and dreams of our Savannah community. ☺
